Observational scatterings
A few thoughts:
- I hate no-smoking trains. I'm in Eastern Europe, for God's sake. I should be able to stand in a hospital surgery with a cigarette on the go.
- Jesus. The hot chocolate I'm trying to drink at the moment is like eating lunch. It's almost solid chocolate.
- Begging in Prague seems to involve a lot more discomfort than it does elsewhere. The two beggars I saw were on their knees and elbows on the cobbles, heads down so they couldn't see anything other than the pavement, hands outstretched as if begging for alms, not moving for hours.
- Warsaw's Old Town was actually built in the 1950s, from bricks that came from surrounding historic towns that hadn't been demolished during WWII. Those towns now have almost no historic buildings left. Almost feels like cheating on Warsaw's part.
More to follow. It's like an occasional series. Maybe.

Hillooo!!
Hope you're both well; made me chuckle reading your accounts thus far :o)
Love the photies of Prague.....or was it Czech Rep.?? It is such a beautiful place - did you go to the graveyard that was about 20 ft above street level that they keep putting people in?? (Dead ones, obviously) ...Wasn't sure if that was the one you were refering to.
Also love that Triny has already commented on Czech's Cheesy delights; I'd like to see a worldwide fromage critique please!!! Surely you had a little tipple of the national drink, too?? Bekerovka is lethal; smells innocent enough, a bit like cough medicine but it'll make you feel like you've swallowed a punch!!!
Enough of my drivel for now. Love to you both, keep the photies and comments coming but don't waste too much time on it!!!

P.S. We're all well here, enjoying picnics in Za'abeel Park and beach BBQ's. We're having a fancy dress Halloween party next week and Vicky will be coming in a fortnight so it's all go!! We're thinking of taking the off-road Wadi Bih route (supposed to be spectacular)over to Dibba and going snorkelling while she's here too.
